Critically Important Notice
Starting June 15, 2009, the following highly significant changes were made to the fee structure and user interface for acquiring Earth Observing One (EO-1) image data in Level 1G (terrain corrected) format from U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) . The changes to the fee structure are as follows:
Changes to the user interface will be accompanied by user support changes, including changes to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Center for Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) person-to-person telephone and email contact provided under the previous fee-based policy. As an alternative, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) EO-1 project has setup a Google Groups Wiki web page to allow users a place to post questions or comments about the new no-fee policy for obtaining EO-1 image data. Replies to those postings will be provided by the GSFC EO-1 project via emails from the Wiki moderator and postings to the Wiki page. The Wiki page is reachable from the new DAR web site by clicking on the “EO1 USGS Tasker Help Page” link found at the bottom of the DAR web page.
The new USGS DAR is an automated web page that is different from the previous DAR form. Due to this change, all outstanding DARs entered under the old DAR system will need to be resubmitted by users into the new DAR web page. Furthermore, if you are a NASA or other U.S. Federal agency funded researcher, or are funded by a U.S. State or Local agency as a researcher, please open the “EO1 USGS Tasker Help Page” as stated above and identify yourself with your Grant title, funding agency name, and other DAR related information to assist the EO-1 project in tracking the data request. |
